My Story
I’m Tracey, founder of Tracey Cuthbertson Interiors.
My route into interior design hasn’t been entirely conventional. Before moving into interiors, I worked in Private, Corporate and Educational sectors and spent 19 years living in Hong Kong. All of these have had a real influence on the way I work now, I love the creative side of design, but I’m equally interested in how a space functions, how a project comes together and all the practical detail behind the scenes.
I’m drawn to interiors that feel warm, characterful and layered. I like a mix of old and new, different textures, interesting artwork and pieces that feel as though they have a story. I’m not interested in making everything match perfectly, and I’d always rather a room felt collected than coordinated.
I also think a home should feel like a home. It can be beautiful without feeling precious, and considered without feeling over-designed.
I take a very personal approach to each project. I like getting to know my clients, understanding how they live and what they’re naturally drawn to, and then helping pull everything together in a way that feels right for them.
I’m very hands-on too, from the initial ideas and sourcing through to procurement, installation and the final styling. I enjoy that whole process, especially the point where a room starts to feel complete.
I work with homeowners, property investors and short-term let owners across Scotland and the UK (global projects welcomed!) both in person and remotely.
Whatever the project, the aim is always the same: to create a space with warmth, personality and a real sense of welcome.
I look forward to working with you.
