CREATING HERITAGE

This bedroom transformation focused on bringing warmth, softness and a stronger sense of character to a contemporary city apartment.

While the original space was functional and well proportioned, it lacked the depth and architectural detail needed to create a more relaxed and inviting atmosphere.

Inspired by classic heritage interiors and boutique hotel styling, the design introduced decorative wall mouldings, coving and layered neutral tones to create a softer, more timeless feel while still remaining calm and contemporary.

Before

The original bedroom felt clean and functional, but lacked warmth, texture and the architectural detailing needed to give the space a more considered and luxurious feel.

Inspiration

The design direction focused on creating a softer heritage-inspired aesthetic through wall panelling, decorative mouldings, layered textiles and warm neutral tones, balancing timeless detailing with a calm contemporary feel.  We reconfigured the bedroom to create a bigger impact as you enter.

After

The finished bedroom feels calmer, warmer and far more refined, with the addition of mouldings and coving helping to create a subtle boutique hotel atmosphere with a stronger sense of character and permanence.
