Meet Tracey

I've always loved homes.

Not the perfect, magazine-style ones, but the ones that instantly make you feel comfortable. The kind of places where you kick your shoes off, settle into the sofa and don't really want to leave.

Becoming an interior designer wasn't my first career. Before launching Tracey Cuthbertson Interiors, I spent many years working in the Private, Corporate and Education sector, including 19 years living and working in Hong Kong. Looking back, those experiences have shaped the way I work just as much as my love of interiors.

Living overseas gave me the opportunity to travel and experience beautiful homes, hotels and cultures from around the world. It taught me to appreciate spaces with character, thoughtful details and a real sense of place.

At the same time, my project management background taught me how to organise people, budgets, timescales and the hundreds of moving parts that sit behind every successful project. It means I love the creative side of design, but I'm just as comfortable making sure everything comes together smoothly behind the scenes.

Today, I work with homeowners, property investors and short-term let owners across Scotland, helping them create homes that are warm, welcoming and designed to be lived in. Every project is different because every client is different.
I don't have a signature style that I try to impose. Instead, I listen carefully, understand how you want the space to feel and create something that's right for you.

I'm particularly passionate about designing homes and hospitality spaces that feel authentic rather than overly styled. I love combining timeless furniture, natural textures, carefully chosen lighting and those little finishing touches that make a room feel complete.

One of the things clients often tell me is that I make the whole process feel easier. Whether you're around the corner or living overseas, my aim is to take away the overwhelm, guide you through the decisions and make the experience as enjoyable as the finished result.

For me, good design isn't about chasing trends. It's about creating spaces that people genuinely love spending time in—and that still feel just as welcoming years from now.
